Choose the Pentel Orenz AT if you want automatic lead advance and a sleeve that supports the lead. Choose the Uni Kuru Toga Metal if your priority is lead rotation and a metal body. Both use 0.5mm lead, but they address different writing needs.

Both 0.5mm formats can be used for equations and small annotations. Your lead grade, paper and writing pressure also influence the result. Lead can break with either pencil; sleeve support is not a guarantee against all breakage.
