Uni Jetstream Lite Touch 0.5mm Review: Ink and Trade-offs

Choose the Uni Jetstream Lite Touch single if you want a light, retractable 0.5mm ballpoint for daily notes. Its Lite Touch ink is designed for lower writing resistance. That is a different writing system from the gel ink in an OHTO GS02, even though both tips are labeled 0.5mm.

What is Lite Touch ink?

Uni describes Lite Touch as a smoother, lighter-writing version of its Jetstream oil-based ballpoint ink. The single pen here writes in black. Ink color, paper and pressure all affect the result; a shared tip size does not imply the same line appearance or feel as a gel pen.

Can you refill the single pen?

Uni lists the SXR-L-5/7 refill family for its Lite Touch single. Match the refill model and ball size before ordering. The multifunction Lite Touch pens use a different refill family, and Marukaku's current refill availability should be checked separately.

Lite Touch or OHTO GS02?

Lite Touch emphasizes a light body and oil-based ballpoint ink. GS02 has a metal body, hexagonal grip, needle tip and gel ink. Choose the traits you value rather than assuming one is universally smoother or better for every paper.

Evidence and limits

The differences here use manufacturer specifications. We have not measured writing pressure, drying time or smearing on named paper, so this is a buying guide rather than a controlled writing test.
